According to VnExpress November 11, 2023 21:39

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, shows off the ability to create custom chatbots on the new ChatGPT, while also mentioning Elon Musk's Grok AI model.

On November 10, Sam Altman posted some screenshots of the latest feature on ChatGPT, which allows users to create custom chatbots, with the caption: "GPTs can save a lot of effort."

In the photo, Altman asks GPT: "Turn yourself into a chatbot and answer questions in a funny way like a Boomer to make people laugh." According to the Oxford dictionary, Boomer is a word used to refer to people born between 1946 and 1964, the period of population explosion in the West after World War II.

“Great, the chatbot is set up,” GPT replied. “Its name is Grok. What do you think of that name, or would you like to call it something else?”

Altman did not share the subsequent chats between himself and the AI. However, according to technology sites, the OpenAI CEO's intention was to show Musk and users that his artificial intelligence model could imitate any current AI, including Grok. Some even suggested that Altman was comparing Grok AI to a person born more than 50 years ago.

In early November, Elon Musk’s xAI company introduced Grok. The South African-born billionaire emphasized that the new AI was designed to interact with humans in a humorous way, rather than simply answering questions. The chatbot was created in just two months, trained on The Pile, a popular data repository for training large-scale language models, and on the social network X’s own massive data.

According toBusiness InsiderAltman's postings targeting Musk's AI may have increased the rift between the two. The two co-founded OpenAI, but Musk left in February 2018 due to internal conflicts. "It was a very difficult period. I had to reorient my life and spend a lot of time trying to make sure the organization had enough funding," Altman said of the shock of Musk's departure withNew Yorkerin an interview in August.

Meanwhile, Musk has repeatedly criticized his former company, saying that OpenAI is only focused on pursuing profits and is controlled by Microsoft, pointing out ChatGPT's "disturbing" responses and calling AI one of the biggest risks to human civilization.

OpenAI is holding a developer event on November 7, introducing a tool for personalizing AI, called GPT. Developers can create AI for specific purposes, such as teaching, graphic design, or customer communication. OpenAI also plans to launch a GPT Store by the end of November for users to share their GPT tools and make money from them.

In addition to GPT, OpenAI also released an improved model, GPT-4 Turbo, which is introduced as more powerful, faster, and cheaper than GPT-4. According to Altman, the new AI can memorize up to hundreds of pages of text in a single prompt, and is capable of analyzing text and images. The data used to train the new model is updated until April, while ChatGPT 3.5 is from 2021.
