Nvidia posted a job posting for engineers and senior managers in Hanoi, related to GPU product development and manufacturing.
On LinkedIn, Nvidia’s recruitment information in Vietnam has appeared for about 2 weeks now, continuously adding new positions. As of December 8, the company posted 9 positions, including managers, engineers, and senior engineers. The recruitment posts are located in Hanoi and can be done remotely. In addition, there is a position for a senior engineer supporting production, working at a factory in Bac Ninh.
One of the first positions the company posted was for Senior Manufacturing Operations Manager. “Nvidia is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to serve as Manufacturing Operations Lead in Vietnam,” the job posting stated. “Key responsibilities will include implementing manufacturing operations strategies to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across our Vietnam operations.”
This position also requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, business, 15 years of experience and 5 years of management experience, extensive knowledge of networking product boards, systems and manufacturing processes, and program management capabilities.
In addition, the company is also recruiting for positions such as production support engineer, product development engineer, information technology - network engineer, mass production infrastructure engineer, senior manager of production and testing operations. The recruitment post does not specify the number of positions or the proposed salary.
According to Ms. Dam Trang, an expert in senior human resource recruitment, Nvidia's search for personnel in Hanoi, while also proposing remote working, shows that the company may be in the process of setting up an office here.
In addition, Nvidia is a fabless company, which means it focuses on chip design and does not own factories but outsources production. However, they are recruiting for many positions related to factories and production, showing that the company is promoting this in Vietnam or surrounding markets, and needs experienced people to act as a bridge and monitor the implementation of suppliers.
Having worked for many years in supporting foreign companies in their search for senior personnel in Vietnam, Ms. Trang assessed that the requirements set by Nvidia are basic criteria commonly found in large companies in the same field. However, this expert said that finding someone with more than 10 years of experience in the semiconductor sector is relatively difficult, because this industry has only developed strongly in recent years in Vietnam, the number of experienced senior engineers is not much and is constantly sought after by large companies.
Previously, during CEO Jensen Huang's visit to Vietnam on December 5, Nvidia and the Vietnamese Government signed an agreement to establish an AI research and development center and an AI data center. Mr. Huang assessed that Vietnam has strengths in STEM and has the potential to create AI talents. He also pledged to promote the domestic AI industry through infrastructure development, training, and the development of an artificial intelligence startup ecosystem.
