Ninh Giang directs handling of Luoc River dike incident

Leaders of Ninh Giang District People's Committee and specialized agencies inspected the current status of the weak point of the left dike of Luoc River in Hiep Luc commune.

In Hiep Luc commune, there is a section of the embankment that was built a long time ago, and many points have collapsed; on the embankment under the commune's management, there are still overgrown grass and trees, making it difficult to detect the extrusion and bubbling veins. In Hong Phuc commune, there is a section of the embankment that has an incident. If not handled promptly, it will affect the foot of the embankment...

On the morning of June 17, the Ninh Giang District People's Committee directed relevant departments and units to urgently inspect the damage to the dike and irrigation works under their management to take timely remedial measures. The District Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise developed a plan to prevent flooding; organized the clearance of obstacles on the rivers to ensure the fastest irrigation and drainage when rain and flooding occurred. Localities proactively implemented the "4 on-site" motto in combination with developing plans and preparing necessary materials to protect vulnerable points. Relevant agencies increased coordination to detect, handle, and stop all forms of sand mining, wharfs, and transportation of materials on the dike during the rainy season.

Ninh Giang district currently has 18.7 km of Luoc River dike passing through 8 communes and towns.
