Trusting the recommendation of a house for rent, a group of students from the highlands studying in Hai Duong were deceived by the Facebook account owner Hoang Thi Linh.
Due to the need to move to a new boarding house, a group of three students from Son La province who are studying at a university in Hai Duong city went online to search for information and contacted the owner of a Facebook account named Hoang Thi Linh - who advertised that she had a boarding house for rent.
Through Messenger, this person said the boarding house is at 72 Nguyen Thi Due Street and requires a deposit of 1 million VND, room rent of 2.3 million VND/month; monthly electricity and water bills are paid by the tenant. This person provided account number 19352861, ACB Bank, account holder Hoang Thi Linh.
Because they urgently needed a place to stay, the group of students did not verify and quickly deposited 500,000 VND in advance for fear that someone else would rent it. Immediately after that, Hoang Thi Linh's Facebook blocked contact with this group of students. On the morning of February 26, the group of students went to ask the owner of house number 72 Nguyen Thi Due and learned that the family did not rent out rooms.
Nowadays, there are many advertisements for cheap rental houses and rooms on the internet, along with beautiful pictures. If you do not go to the place to verify and hastily pay a deposit, those who need to rent a house can easily have their money taken away.
