Musician Nguyen Xuan Phuong passed away on the morning of November 29 after a long battle with cancer. He was the author of many film soundtracks that have been familiar to the public since the 1990s, notably“Longing for Old Memories,” “Unspoken Words,” “Lullaby for Children”…
Musician Xuan Phuong was born in 1973, from Hung Yen. He graduated from the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Since 2000, he has been a lecturer at the Military College of Culture and Arts, now the Military University of Culture and Arts, and later continued his postgraduate studies in folklore research. Xuan Phuong once participated in the Golden Key Band with singer Bang Kieu.
He passed away at the age of 50, when he was still full of passion for his work and writing and teaching.
Musician Xuan Phuong's close friend, singer Minh Quan, posted a black and white photo of the musician with the caption: "Farewell! Musician Xuan Phuong. Musician, teacher of many generations of students! Author of many famous songs: "Wishing for old memories," "If we have to be apart," "You"...”

Journalist and media expert Ngo Ba Luc said he was shocked when he received the news of musician Xuan Phuong's death: "Hearing that he was seriously ill, the group of artists including Minh Quan, Thu Thuy, Bao Tram, and Duc Trung discussed organizing a Xuan Phuong music night...
