Quoc Dung, composer of the song "Tet Song for You", husband of singer Bao Yen, passed away at the age of 72 due to old age illness on September 24.

Singer Bao Yen said her husband passed away at 9am on September 24 at his home in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Kim Tuan - Bao Yen's younger brother - announced that the musician's cremation will take place on September 25. The family asks not to accept wreaths or condolences.

The musician's full name is Nguyen Quoc Dung, born in 1951 in Thailand. In 1954, when Quoc Dung was three years old, his family returned to Vietnam. At the age of 10, Quoc Dung entered the Saigon National Conservatory of Music, and at the age of 16 he graduated as valedictorian in Western music. After passing the Baccalaureate 2, Quoc Dung entered Van Hanh University.

At the age of 15, Quoc Dung performed the mandolin on television in a grand orchestra. Quoc Dung's first piece of music was written when he was only 11 years old, an instrumental piece.
