Mr. VNS, the person who won the auction for a blue-plate Land Rover for 3 billion VND, has forfeited his deposit.

The above information has just been announced by the Department of Environmental Protection (under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Thanh Hoa).

A representative of the Department of Environmental Protection said: "The payment deadline has passed, but Mr. VNS, the auction winner, did not pay the full amount, so we have canceled the auction result and will re-organize the auction."

"The unit is also researching to organize the auction in another suitable form, to avoid the situation where auction participants pay high prices but abandon their deposits, causing a waste of time," said this leader.

Previously, on November 9, Hoang Duc Joint Stock Auction Company organized an auction of a 5-seat Land Rover car, license plate 36B-1771, manufactured in 2008, made in England. The car has frame number SALLDHMT89A772369, engine number 081001152315244DT, and mileage of 308,214 km.

This is the liquidated property of Thanh Hoa Environmental Protection Department, under Thanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

The car initially had a starting price of 71 million VND. In the first round of auction, the car was bid for more than 1 billion VND. In the second round, there were 17 bids, the highest bidder was Mr. VNS with a bid of 3 billion VND.

According to car enthusiasts in Thanh Hoa, this is the Land Rover Defender TD5 diesel version, a rare item in Vietnam. In the used car market, the price of Land Rover Defender is not cheap and is also determined by the quality and originality of the car.

The Land Rover Defender TD5 uses a 2.5L inline 5-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, delivering a maximum capacity of 120 horsepower at 4,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 300Nm from 1,950 rpm. Power is transmitted to the two axles via a 5-speed manual transmission, 2-wheel drive.

As a British car company's off-road SUV line first produced in 1983, the Defender name is associated with the classic square "matchbox" design and maintains this identifying feature until the current new generation. In the new generation currently sold in Vietnam, the car has many versions and prices from 4 billion to over 7 billion VND.
