Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has received information about a woman who died after breast fat grafting, the incident occurred on April 20.

On the evening of April 22, Ms. Le Thien Quynh Nhu, Deputy Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health confirmed the incident in which a 61-year-old woman died after undergoing breast fat grafting surgery at Kangnam Saigon Cosmetic Hospital.

Initial information shows that a female customer named L. (living in District 1) came to Kangnam Saigon Cosmetic Hospital (Tan Binh District) for a pre-operative examination and was scheduled to have breast fat grafting performed 1 day later.

On the day of surgery, Ms. L. had difficulty breathing and was given medical assistance. She was then transferred from Kangnam Saigon Cosmetic Hospital to Cho Ray Hospital for further resuscitation. However, the patient died on the afternoon of April 20.

Tan Binh District Police and the Department of Health inspectors coordinated to inspect and seal medical records, requiring the facility to temporarily suspend cosmetic surgery operations until the investigation concludes.

Currently, on the website of KangNam Cosmetic Hospital, there is also a consultation about the Nano Fat grafting method: taking fat from thick areas of the body (abdomen, thighs, arms, buttocks, etc.) to compensate for the deficiency of underdeveloped parts (eye sockets, face, chest, etc.).

"Healthy fat cells are confirmed by cosmetic experts around the world as a safe "filler" with almost absolute body compatibility," the advertisement on the website states.
