At noon on November 23, Ngo Thanh Van - producer and director of the action film "Thanh Soi" announced the film's press conference date on November 25 and said she had waited for this day for 5 years.
Ngo Thanh Van posted a photo of the Thanh Soi press conference invitation and shared on her fanpage: "Waiting for the right time to let the Wolf return to its cage. I've been waiting for this day for 5 years, since I started writing about it. But the 2 years of the pandemic have been so intense that it's been hidden for a long time.
Here it is everyone, no more waiting. Let's count down the days until I can debut with Van."
Previously, Box Office Vietnam said their data showed that Thanh Soi was scheduled to be released on December 30, aiming for New Year's Day 2023. Responding to reporters, the film crew did not confirm this information but said it would be announced at a press conference on November 25.
Ngo Thanh Van and Dong Anh Quynh, main actors of Thanh Soi
In recent months, the reporter's source said that Thanh Soi has had difficulty with content review. The film is about the Saigon gangsters in the 90s, with strong language and actions.
The trio of actors Dong Anh Quynh, Toc Tien, and Rima Thanh Vy are advertised as "not only fierce fighters but also possess breathtakingly attractive looks and are filled with lust".
Audiences can visualize this through the teaser trailer of Thanh Soi, released on March 24.
Rima Thanh Vy, Dong Anh Quynh, Toc Tien in the movie Thanh Soi
Thanh Soi teaser opens with the story of Bi (Dong Anh Quynh)'s life, leading the audience to the two characters Thanh (Toc Tien) and Hong (Rima Thanh Vy) through fiery and realistic action scenes.
The motorbike chases, knife fights, close combat, and melees are like a prediction of the girls' criminal lives. The teaser also emphasizes their declaration: "That's how men are, they treat women like toys, and treat our sisters' pain like a joke. It's time for us to make them pay."
The teaser has the background music of the song "Farewell to the Past" sung by Phuong Thanh, with a retro-inspired, tormenting, and melancholy arrangement.
