This information comes in the context of deepening relations between the US and India in the space sector.

Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, the capital of the southern Indian state of Karnataka, Nelson said that the two countries have opportunities to share in the field of science. On November 30, Nelson is scheduled to inspect the joint satellite of the two countries, the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR). This is a low-Earth orbit observation system jointly developed by NASA and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). This satellite is expected to be launched from India in the first quarter of 2024.

India is aiming to increase its share of the global satellite launch market fivefold over the next decade and agreed to join NASA's Artemis Accords in June this year.
