On the afternoon of September 9, the Con Son Cup International Table Tennis Tournament held the semi-final matches of men's and women's teams between the men's teams: Hai Duong 1 - Guangxi, T&T People's Public Security - Singapore; women's teams: Ho Chi Minh City - Thailand, Taiwan - Guangxi.

In the semi-final match between Hai Duong 1 men's team and Quang Tay, Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh played first in the first set and lost to his opponent 2-3. The main player Nguyen Duc Tuan played second but lost quickly with a score of 0-3.

Young player Nguyen Duy Phong played the third set but also had to give up his racket against a very strong opponent with a score of 2-3. Despite losing the third set, Nguyen Duy Phong showed clear progress when he won 2 sets. Duy Phong is considered the successor to the seniors of Hai Duong table tennis, especially after this player just won the Southeast Asian Youth Championship.

Losing in the semi-finals is not surprising because the opponents of Hai Duong 1 men's team in this tournament are all very strong. To reach the semi-finals, on the morning of September 9, Hai Duong 1 men's team overcame another very strong opponent, Thailand. Before that, Hai Duong 2 men's team, Hai Duong 1 women's team, and Hai Duong 2 women's team also had to stop.

After defeating Hai Duong 1 with a final score of 3-0, Guangxi will compete for the gold medal with one of two teams, T&T People's Public Security or Singapore.

The finals for the men's and women's teams will take place on the evening of September 9. On September 10, the teams will compete in the men's and women's singles.
