Vietnamese tycoons do not dare to spend money to participate in the Gumball 3000 journey because each participation requires a contribution of up to 2.5 billion VND.

The Gumball 3000 supercar journey in 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the organization (1999-2024), starting from Vietnam, passing through Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and ending in Singapore. This journey attracts more than 100 supercars of all kinds to participate, however, no members are from Vietnam.

The fee to participate in this famous supercar journey is up to 100,000 USD/team of 2 people (equivalent to about 2.5 billion VND). For many Vietnamese people, this is not a small amount of money. This amount is enough to buy some sports cars or luxury cars "unboxed" in Vietnam.

Car & Passion Journey organized in 2019

Previously, domestic car enthusiasts had supercar journeys like Car & Passion, with a scale of dozens of cars. Participants in this journey only had to pay a sum of money for expenses such as logistics, event organization or accommodation. In addition, this event also had charity events, calling for help and giving gifts to the poor.

Therefore, Vietnamese tycoons seem to be unfamiliar with paying large fees to become members like the British tycoon's Gumball 3000 operation.

In the past, Gumball 300 has brought together many of the world's richest people. History records that up to 70 billionaires participated in this supercar journey, many of whom were honored by Forbes such as the founder of social network Facebook or CEO of the Paypal application.

On this journey, the only two Vietnamese people participating were Mr. Sang Tran (Gulfstream Inc) from Canada and Mr. Tri Nguyen (Not Polish Company) from the US.

In addition, Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, Chairman of Trung Nguyen Coffee Group, also displayed 16 supercars at the event, including Ferrari models and a pair of Ford GTs worth more than 120 billion VND. To display the fleet of cars, the coffee businessman had to spend a large sum of money.

Currently, Vietnam also has many famous names in the car playing world, owning a fleet of cars worth hundreds of billions of dong and can be compared with famous car players in the world.

Typically, tycoon Minh “Nhua” owns a pair of Pagani Huayra and McLaren Elva worth over 200 billion VND, or tycoon Hoang Kim Khanh with a fleet of supercars worth over 400 billion VND. However, neither of these people attended the exhibition event or were members of Gumball 3000.

Not only the two car enthusiasts above, the player Cuong Do-la was once said to be one of two people living in Vietnam who participated in the Gumball 3000 journey and used a Ferrari SF90 Spider worth more than 45 billion VND for this journey. The supercar once attracted attention when it had the Gumball 3000 logo, before 100 supercars from all over the world were transferred to our country.
