New generation Mitsubishi Triton launched to Vietnamese customers in September

The Triton will have a new, more aggressive design than the previous generation, an upgraded chassis and suspension system, and an ADAS active safety package. The official price has not been revealed.

In other markets, the new Triton version was launched earlier, with a design that is almost completely different from the old version, with many square lines, slim LED daytime running lights, T-shaped taillights and headlights, and a small spoiler on the rear trunk. The new Triton's length x width x height is 5,360 mm x 1,930 mm x 1,815 mm, among the largest in the segment.

The interior of the new Triton has been completely "transformed" compared to the old version, with the infotainment screen emerging and separate from the dashboard, redesigned air-conditioning vents, a combined analog and electronic driving screen placed in the middle, larger in size than the old version.

The new generation engine has the code 4N16 with a capacity of 2.4 liters, replacing the old generation's 4N15 engine with the same capacity. The engine has a cooling device, VGT vane control technology, electronic fuel injection and a double overhead cam system (DOHC).

There are three performance levels, the low-end version is strong at 148 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 330 Nm of torque at 1,500-3,000 rpm. The mid-range version is strong at 184 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The highest version is strong at 201 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and 470 Nm of torque at 1,500-2,750 Nm.

Comes with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The highest version uses automatic transmission and 2-wheel drive. The car is still equipped with the Super Select 4WD-II and Easy Select 4WD electronic bridge system, with the addition of the AYC (Active Yaw Control) system to support stable cornering, and a limited-slip differential (LSD).

ADAS active safety features on the new version include forward collision mitigation (with automatic emergency braking), lane change assist, blind spot warning, rear vehicle warning, adaptive cruise control.

Dealers said that customers who make early deposits between August 12 and September 10 will receive a promotion of 10 genuine engine oil and oil filter changes within 5 years or 100,000, whichever comes first.
