MG's D-size sedan imported from China has appeared in Vietnam for the first time, expected to launch before October with 3 versions.

After MG5, RX5, MG4 EV, MG distributor (SAIC Vietnam) continues to launch a new model in 2024, MG7. Recently, the car was caught on a street in Hanoi.

A source from the distributor said that MG7 is completing the final stages of the process including registration and inspection. "The company will launch this car line at the end of August," this person said. Currently, dealers have received deposits for MG7.

MG7 is the most premium sedan of the British brand, MG (owned by SAIC - China). The car has a sporty design with a coupe-style C-pillar. Similar to the Kia K5, Hyundai Sonata, the MG7's appearance is dynamic and youthful, different from the quiet, old-fashioned style of Japanese models such as Mazda6, Toyota Camry.

The MG7's dimensions of length x width x height are 4,884 x 1,889 x 1,447 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,778 mm. These dimensions are slightly smaller than the Camry, a model with dimensions of 4,885 x 1,840 x 1,445 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.

MG7 is equipped with MacPherson front suspension and multi-link rear. 18-19 inch rims. The rear spoiler can open automatically from 100 km/h and close when the speed is 70 km/h or less.

The MG7 cockpit has a dual 10.25-inch LCD screen behind the steering wheel and a 12.3-inch screen in the center of the dashboard connected to each other. Electronic gear lever, leather seats with sporty design.

In China, MG7 has 6 optional versions. The three low versions are equipped with a 1.5 turbocharged engine, 185 horsepower, 300 Nm of torque, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The three high versions are equipped with a 2.0 turbocharged engine, 257 horsepower, 405 Nm of torque, 9-speed automatic transmission from ZF.

The configuration of the MG7 that will be sold in Vietnam in the near future is currently unknown. The car competes with D-segment rivals such as Toyota Camry (VND 1.22-1.49 billion), Mazda6 (VND 744-874 million)... or the new pure electric BYD Seal model sold in Vietnam for VND 1.119-1.359 billion.
