Mother-in-law was heartbroken when her daughter-in-law remarried, crying for 10 days

The ex-mother-in-law was heartbroken and could not bear to let her daughter-in-law go.

The main character in this humane story is Nguyen Huynh Le (29 years old), living in Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City. Le's husband passed away when she was just 19 years old. Le mourned her husband for 3 years, diligently going to the pagoda every day, offering rice, and eating vegetarian food. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phu (born in 1960, living in Binh Chanh) pitied her young daughter-in-law who was a widow, so she agreed to remarry her daughter.

Le's new mother-in-law, Mrs. Vo Thi My No (64 years old), was very sympathetic to her daughter-in-law's situation and welcomed Le home with all her love.

During more than 10 years of being a daughter-in-law, Le remembered every memory and the care her two mothers gave her. When Le was 19 years old, she first met Mrs. Phu. She was worried when she learned that her mother-in-law was an extremely difficult person. When things went wrong, Mrs. Phu often threw things and scolded her, causing Le to cry.

"Oh no, Mom is too difficult. Sometimes her face is very serious, when she's happy she says yes, when she's not happy she doesn't answer at all. I don't know how to do housework either," Le recalled.

Knowing that Le liked spicy food, she bought a dozen chili peppers and stored them in the refrigerator, then cut them up for her to eat at mealtimes. Le did not like to eat rice, so she understood and changed to rice noodles, adding shrimp and squid to feed her. During confinement, she was forbidden from washing her daughter-in-law's hair, so Mrs. Phu boiled water and washed her daughter-in-law's hair directly.

When giving birth to her second child, Le remembered most the time when her milk ducts were blocked.
