Man Utd beat Man City

Man City have usually dominated recent Manchester derbies. But their decline, with just one win in their last 10 games, has opened the door for Man Utd to knock down the Etihad fortress. Pep Guardiola's side still took the lead thanks to a first-half header from Josko Gvardiol, but repeated defensive errors and a lack of luck from Man Utd's strikers, combined with a bit of luck, prevented Man City from conceding an equaliser.

However, luck did not stay on Man City's side forever. Two minutes later, Amad completed a somewhat crazy comeback for Man Utd. He received a long pass from Lisandro Martinez, dribbled past Ederson and finished into the net from a tight angle. Gvardiol dropped back to cover, but missed the ball at too high a speed. After this goal, Man Utd players rushed to the corner post, hugging each other to celebrate. In the stands nearby, many Man City fans could not believe what had just happened.

With this result, Ruben Amorim once again defeated Guardiola's Man City, after doing this with his old club Sporting Lisbon in early November. This spectacular victory at the Etihad Stadium promises to breathe new life into the "Red Devils", while also causing their rivals to sink deeper into crisis.

Man City were lacklustre, but Man Utd were also unable to make much of an impact. The difference was made by Amad - Man Utd's best player under Amorim. The Ivorian's efforts helped him make up for a miss in the first half, as well as a header blocked by Ederson in the second.

As for Fernandes, he also missed a one-on-one opportunity in the 74th minute before scoring. In this match, the Man Utd captain was assigned to play as a pivot alongside Manuel Ugarte, but after Mason Mount was injured and had to leave the field early, Fernandes was pushed up high.

Guardiola even shared that he was so nervous that he only ate soup in the evening. In terms of statistics, Man City could not make a difference as usual, only having 52% possession, seven shots with three on target, the same as their opponents. On Man Utd's side, the biggest problem Amorim faces is the lack of training time to change the team's playing style. The Portuguese coach has been ruthless in removing Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the starting lineup because he wants the "Red Devils" to play more solidly. However, despite playing with more rhythm and organization, Man Utd still lack personality and sharpness.
