The way back in January is the way back to the homeland. Trains and buses roll by carrying children far from home back to celebrate spring and Tet.
The season is right on schedule, the porch sprinkles sunshine to welcome January in the clear morning. The weather is warm and harmonious, everything is bustling to welcome. Strangely, every year when welcoming January, our hearts are filled with excitement, wistfulness, and agitation.
The way back to January begins with the shimmering color of chicken fat sunshine. From early morning, the sunlight sparkles on every young bud, green shoot, condenses on the shimmering dewdrops, creating countless colorful crystals. The sunlight rests on the bright pink peach blossoms, the bright yellow apricot buds of Tet. Walking in the sunlight of January, we feel like we want to melt into the earth and sky, into all things, and want to become a butterfly playing in the gentle spring days.
Perhaps nature is too generous with the January sunshine, so that when we look at it, we love it even more and don’t want to leave. The January sunshine is as light as a cloud, just warm enough to make the buds sprout and turn green. The January sunshine is also just enough to create a harmonious, sweet, and beautiful spring picture.
The way back in January is the way back to the homeland. Trains and buses roll by, the horns urge people far from home to return home to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet.
Returning on the old village road, the red soil clings to the heels. Moss-covered tiled roofs nestle next to bamboo groves, the spring wind creaks, swaying the spring song.
When I was a child, I remember following my mother to the fields in January, passing by bamboo groves, listening to the sound of the wind. The spring road was filled with laughter.
The way back in January has a light rain covering the path. The rain is like dust, like mist, like smoke, as fragile as silk woven between the earth and sky. Tiny raindrops cover the hair, sparkling like countless drops of pearl. The light rain sows in the heart many gentle but also very lovely emotions.
The way back in January is the green of youth, desire, hope. January with Tet tree planting. Home in spring is the road of time with many paths.
The way back to January is a quiet moment for us to look back on the past year, to recall what we have gained or lost.
We suddenly realize that no matter how many ups and downs, losses, joys and sorrows we go through, life still flows and everything will pass... We are more confident to welcome a new year, starting many better things.
