According to Al Jazeera channel on October 23, the German national airline group said the reason was concern about the spreading conflict in the Middle East.

Accordingly, flights to Tehran will be suspended until January 31, 2025 and flights to Beirut will be suspended until February 28, 2025.

Previously, Lufthansa only suspended flights to Tehran and Beirut until October 31 and November 30, respectively.

On October 21, Lufthansa also announced that the group will extend the suspension of flights to the Israeli capital Tel Aviv until November 10 due to the country's conflict with the Hamas Islamist movement in the Gaza Strip and with the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon.

Lufthansa's Eurowings airline will extend the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until November 30.

Lufthansa Group has been constantly revising its flight schedule in recent months due to rising tensions in the Middle East. Lufthansa has suspended all flights to Tel Aviv regardless of the country of origin. As a result, not only flights from Germany have been temporarily canceled, but also from all international airports with connections.

Lufthansa said it would avoid Israeli airspace until at least October 31 and would not use Iranian and Iraqi airspace until further notice, with the exception of a corridor in Iraqi airspace for flights to Erbil.

According to Lufthansa's website, affected passengers can rebook their tickets for a later date free of charge or opt for a full refund.

Meanwhile, the situation in the Middle East continues to be tense as Israel fights multiple forces on multiple fronts.

Israel has repeatedly attacked Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Most recently, the Israeli military announced that it had targeted command and control complexes belonging to Hezbollah. Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee said: "Air Force aircraft, under the direction of the Northern Command, attacked approximately 10 command and control complexes belonging to various Hezbollah units in the Haouch area of southern Lebanon, including the headquarters of the Radwan Force... For a long time, Hezbollah has systematically controlled civilian and religious areas throughout Lebanon to carry out offensive operations, putting the Lebanese people at risk."

On the night of October 21 and early morning of October 22, Israel carried out simultaneous airstrikes on the outskirts of the Lebanese capital Beirut. Its forces attacked more than 30 targets belonging to Al-Qard al-Hassan, a financial company with ties to Hezbollah.

Israeli forces have hit a Hezbollah bunker containing tens of millions of dollars in cash and gold in attacks on the group's financial network.

In addition, Israel is also preparing a plan to retaliate against Iran after being fired nearly 200 missiles by Iran in early October.
