18 people were killed, 2 injured and 2 missing in a landslide that occurred on the night of April 13 in South Sulawesi province, central Indonesia.
In a statement issued on April 14, the head of the Executive Office of the South Sulawesi Disaster Management and Mitigation Agency, Amson Pado, said landslides caused by heavy rains in Makale and South Makale districts flattened many houses, buried residents inside and blocked many roads.
Rescuers are currently trying to search for missing people in the mud.
However, rescue work encountered many difficulties due to the impact of heavy rain.
