Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation plans to hold a mass wedding ceremony for union members in April.

In order to promote activities to care for the material and spiritual life and create trust and solidarity between union members and the Trade Union organization, the Hai Duong Provincial Labor Federation plans to organize a collective wedding ceremony for union members in April. This is the first time the Provincial Labor Federation has implemented this program.

The subjects selected for the group wedding are union members in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions to organize their own wedding; working at agencies, units, and enterprises in Hai Duong province, having a union organization, voluntarily getting married and wishing to organize a wedding in 2024. These union members must have a union membership card before December 31, 2023, permanent or temporary residence in Hai Duong province, have registered for marriage; families in difficult circumstances, poor or near-poor households. The number of union members allowed to organize a wedding will be based on the number of registrations and requests of the direct superior unions at the grassroots level.

Union members wishing to organize a collective wedding ceremony need to prepare a registration dossier including: an application for participation in the collective wedding ceremony with confirmation from the leader of the agency, unit, enterprise or the Executive Board of the Trade Union at the workplace. A commitment to participate in the collective wedding ceremony in 2024, a 3x4 photo of the couple registering for marriage, a notarized copy of the marriage certificate, a notarized ID card of the couple and a request letter with the minutes of the meeting of the trade union at the level directly above the base. The registration deadline is before March 15.

Couples who register and are selected to hold a mass wedding will be supported with 1 large wedding photo, wedding dress, makeup, wedding flowers. The Provincial Labor Federation will cover all expenses for the wedding party, each couple can invite up to 24 relatives to the party. Each couple will be given a wedding ring worth no more than 5 million VND; a savings book worth 5 million VND. Support for all facilities and conditions for organizing the wedding ceremony including: hall, sound, light, wedding decoration, and art program at the wedding party.

The cost of organizing a mass wedding for union members will be socialized by the union.
