Question: In recent days, I have seen that there is a 2025 Tet holiday schedule for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers working in the state sector. May I ask how the holiday schedule for workers working in private companies is implemented?

Reply:
Pursuant to Point b, Clause 1 and Clause 3, Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, employees are entitled to 5 days off and receive full pay. Every year, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister decides on specific Lunar New Year holidays for employees.
Pursuant to Notice 6150/TB-BLDTBXH dated December 3, 2024 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, employers decide to choose one of the following 2025 Tet holiday options for employees (working in the private sector):
Option 1: One day at the end of the year of Giap Thin and the first 4 days of the year of At Ty (ie from January 28 to February 1, 2025).
Option 2: The last two days of the year of Giap Thin and the first three days of the year of At Ty (ie from January 27 to January 31, 2025).
Option 3: The last three days of the year of the Dragon and the first two days of the year of the Snake (ie from January 26 to January 30, 2025).
Employers must notify employees of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday plan at least 30 days in advance.
Thus, based on this notice, your private company can consult or decide to choose a Tet holiday plan that is suitable for the business situation and the needs of employees.
