Quickly handle people's petitions

The recent direct meeting and dialogue between Chairman of Gia Loc District People's Committee Vu Van Cap and the people of Hoang Dieu commune took place enthusiastically with 27 frank and constructive opinions.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tien Chien in Nghia Hy village and 4 others proposed dredging and clearing the flow of Quan Sanh river. In response to the opinions that are close to the real life of local people, Chairman of Gia Loc District People's Committee Vu Van Cap accepted and requested the district's Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise to respond and handle the matter.

After nearly a week since the dialogue, relevant units have dredged and removed duckweed from the above canal, ensuring clear flow.

The fact that the leaders of the Party Committee and the government organized meetings, dialogues and thoroughly answered questions for the people right at the dialogue session promptly resolved many problems and difficulties. At the dialogue session with cadres and women's union members in the district by Ninh Giang District Party Secretary Pham Van Khanh, some women's union members were concerned and asked the chair about the time to implement the embankment of Dai Phu Giang canal. People wanted to design it in the form of a vertical embankment to ensure safety.

The Secretary of the Ninh Giang District Party Committee responded at the conference that by May 2024, the project had completed geological and topographic surveys, established basic designs, and received comments from relevant departments and branches. Construction is expected to begin in November 2024.

At the meeting and dialogue between Chairman of Binh Giang District People's Committee Truong Manh Long and people of Vinh Hung commune on April 23, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuc in Vinh Lai village mentioned that in the village there are a number of people who regularly use drugs in the cemetery area and Dinh Mau field.

Accepting Mr. Thuc's opinion, the Chairman of Binh Giang District People's Committee requested the District Police to coordinate in strictly handling this situation. Since April, the above situation has not appeared in Vinh Hung Commune.

Mr. Le Huy Hanh in Lai village, Vinh Hung commune (Binh Giang) said: “At the meeting, we were able to frankly propose and recommend to the Chairman of the District People's Committee many issues regarding land, traffic, and policies. After listening to the specialized departments clarifying the opinions, the district leaders concluded that we, the people, were very sympathetic and no longer had concerns like before.”

Speak for the people, listen for the people

In Thanh Mien district, the contact and dialogue between leaders of Party committees and authorities at all levels and the people have also been effective. Along with contributing to solving difficult problems, many issues have been suggested by the people to the Party committees and authorities.

Thanh Mien District Party Secretary Dong Dung Manh said that at the meetings and dialogues, he had the opportunity to talk and listen to the people to grasp the situation in the localities. This is also the basis for evaluating the staff and specialized agencies performing the work. “From the exchange with the people, the leaders of the Party Committee and the government will anticipate the work of the locality to have appropriate policies and implementation plans. From the dialogue with the people, the district has done a lot of work, especially in the work of clearing land for projects, mobilizing land donations to build many roads with the participation of hundreds of households,” said Dong Dung Manh.

According to the Chairman of Cam Giang District People's Committee, Tran Van Quyet, every year, the contact and dialogue activities of the heads of Party committees and authorities with the people are included in the work program of the Party committees and authorities; clearly defining the time, location, content, order, procedures, and dialogue subjects... Thanks to that, this work is maintained in a regular manner, becoming more and more effective and practical. Listening to people's opinions to answer the main points is the basic condition to limit the occurrence of complicated incidents, not to form "hot spots", and significantly reduce complaints and denunciations. Dialogue also contributes to promoting the role of supervision, social criticism, and participation in building Party committees and authorities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and the people.
