Expanding consumption channels for Van Hoi sweet potatoes (Ninh Giang)

On the afternoon of October 4, comrade Phan Nhat Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ninh Giang district (Hai Duong) had a dialogue with the people of Van Hoi commune.

The dialogue had 12 opinions and recommendations focusing on the fields of agriculture, rural areas, transportation, natural resources and environment, government building, ensuring security and order...

Some opinions suggested that the district should forecast the output of agricultural products, especially the famous local "royal" sweet potatoes. This is a 3-star OCOP certified product, favored by many people with an area of ​​dozens of hectares. The Van Hoi Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative and growers have actively promoted the product on many channels, but there were times when the sweet potatoes could not be consumed, leading to no profit...

Comrade Phan Nhat Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Ninh Giang District People's Committee, said that the District People's Committee has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize training to bring Van Hoi sweet potatoes to e-commerce platforms and social networking sites, and regularly participate in festivals in the province to promote and introduce the product.

However, Van Hoi sweet potatoes are still seasonal, and households have not paid attention to packaging and labeling the product, which limits promotion and differentiation from other types of potatoes on the market.

With the support of the district, the Chairman of Ninh Giang District People's Committee assigned Van Hoi Commune People's Committee to direct professional staff to strengthen guidance and supervision of households to properly implement the process before bringing to the market to affirm and enhance the brand value. Van Hoi Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative needs to actively expand different sweet potato consumption channels to ensure a good harvest and good price for people.

At the dialogue, Chairman of the District People's Committee Phan Nhat Thanh answered and requested leaders of specialized agencies and related units to answer people's opinions within their authority; accept opinions beyond their authority to report and make recommendations to higher levels.
