On September 15, Director of Kinh Mon Town Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise Nguyen Van Chien said that the enterprise has operated all 12 pumping stations to prevent flooding in the fields.
12 pumping stations in Kinh Mon have 70 pumps, with a total capacity of 215.6 m³/hour. Of which, 9 stations discharge directly into the river (total capacity of 199.2 m³/hour); 3 local discharge stations (total capacity of 16.4 m³/hour).
After storm No. 3, from September 9 to 14, many areas of Kinh Mon town lost power, affecting the operation of the pumping system. Meanwhile, floods from upstream combined with high tides caused the water level of the outer river to rise, sometimes exceeding the level III alarm. Some inland areas were locally flooded, making pumping and drainage difficult.
Currently, flood water levels on rivers continue to recede. At An Phu hydrological station at 7:00 a.m. on September 15, it was 2.48 m, 0.42 m below alert level III. The town's Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise will continue to monitor the water level of external rivers in the area, proactively divide the drainage areas, and propose appropriate pumping and drainage to urgently prevent inland flooding.
On September 16, if the weather does not rain and the river water level continues to fall, Kinh Mon Town Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise will organize pumping and drainage combined with gravity drainage.
