Kinh Mon still has 5 standards that have not met the standards of a type III urban area.

Comrade Nguyen Khac Toan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Council attended the inspection session.

According to the Project proposing to recognize Kinh Mon town as a type III urban area, this town is eligible to propose classification and recognition as a type III urban area with a total score of 88.18/100 points. Kinh Mon has 58/63 criteria to achieve type III urban area.

5 criteria that have not met the prescribed scores include: Ratio of traffic land to urban construction land; ratio of urban wastewater treated to standards; average land for public green trees in inner-city areas per capita; green works; urban functional areas, new urban areas planned and designed according to green models, applying high and smart technology.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Bui Hoc Anh, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee, affirmed that being recognized as a type III urban area will have a strong impact on the development of Kinh Mon town, creating a premise for the goal of striving to become a city before 2030. Kinh Mon town needs to strengthen direction and coordination with relevant sectors to accelerate the investment progress of construction of missing and weak items compared to the criteria of a type III urban area. Regarding the content of the review of the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period of Kinh Mon town, the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee noted that the locality needs to do a good job of arranging personnel and using public assets after the merger.

Before the working session with Kinh Mon Town People's Committee, members of the inspection team surveyed the actual situation in Thuong Quan commune, Kinh Mon town sports complex, and Thanh Cong ecological urban area.
