A high-speed traffic route will be built connecting the center of Hai Duong city with Thuy Nguyen city (Hai Phong).

On April 23, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province issued a plan to implement coordination contents between the Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City Party Committee on administrative unit arrangement.

Regarding the transport sector, the two localities will continue to implement a number of major projects, key works, projects with spillover effects, and socio-economic development orientations that have been planned or are being implemented; strategic infrastructure projects on transport, industry, and urban areas.

In particular, the content of building a high-speed traffic route connecting the center of Hai Duong City, Hai Duong Province at present with the Political - Administrative Center of Hai Phong City in Thuy Nguyen City, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches to discuss and agree with the functional agencies of Hai Phong City to implement.

Previously, on April 21, the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee issued a conclusion on the construction of the Project to merge Hai Duong Province and Hai Phong City; the preparation work for the Congress of Delegates of the Hai Phong City Party Committee after the merger, term 2025 - 2030. The two sides agreed to research and invest in the construction of a traffic route connecting Hai Duong City and Hai Phong with a scale commensurate with the position and stature of Hai Phong City after the merger to solve the travel needs of people and the development orientation of the city in the future.

The Hai Phong City Party Committee was assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee to propose specific plans and advise on adjustments and supplements to the public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period, and report to the Standing Committees of the two local Party Committees for urgent implementation.

Along with that, Hai Duong province also coordinated with Hai Phong city to develop a plan to organize inter-regional public transport for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of Hai Duong province who are expected to move to Hai Phong city for work.
