Notice for ships to take shelter from storm

The Ministry of Transport has issued Official Dispatch No. 31/CD-BGTVT on focusing on responding to storm No. 3 (international name Yagi) in the East Sea.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Transport requires agencies and units to proactively monitor forecast information and developments of storms, rains, and floods, promptly direct and deploy response work according to the "four on-site" motto according to assigned tasks and authority, and not be passive or surprised to ensure safety of life and minimize property damage to people.

Vietnam Maritime Electronic Information Company Limited directed the Coastal Information Stations to continue to closely monitor the storm's developments, regularly update, process information and promptly notify ships of the storm's developments and direction of movement so that they can proactively avoid, escape from or not enter dangerous areas.

The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center urgently dispatched SAR vessels to the locations most likely to be affected to support localities in responding to storm No. 3 and to be ready to participate in search and rescue when ordered.

The Vietnam Maritime Administration directs maritime port authorities to continue to review, call on, and guide ships still operating at sea not to enter or exit dangerous areas, to return to safe shelters, not to leave any ships in dangerous areas, and to take measures to ensure the safety of people and vehicles when situations arise.

The Vietnam Road Administration directs units to proactively concentrate materials, equipment and human resources to be ready to overcome the consequences of storms and floods on national highways; road management areas take the lead and coordinate with the Department of Transport and local authorities to organize on-duty, regulate traffic, assign guards, set up buoys, barriers and signals at flooded areas, overflow tunnels, broken roads, landslides... resolutely not allowing people and vehicles to enter these areas, in order to absolutely ensure traffic safety on national highways.

Vietnam Railway Authority and Vietnam Railway Corporation direct units to strictly implement patrol and guard regimes at key works, locations, and key areas such as weak bridges and roads that are prone to flooding; areas prone to flash floods, steep mountain passes, falling rocks, landslides, etc.; proactively concentrate materials, equipment, and human resources to overcome the consequences of rain and floods and ensure smooth traffic, and ensure safety for people.

The railway industry has plans to stop trains in areas prone to flash floods, steep mountain passes, rock falls, landslides, railway areas downstream of dikes, irrigation dams, and reservoirs that have accidents caused by storms, and has plans to transfer passengers in case of railway accidents, especially passenger trains on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route.

Based on the storm's developments, the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration will consider directing inland waterway port authorities not to grant permission for ships to leave ports to or pass through areas affected by the storm.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has directed airlines and aviation service companies to closely monitor the storm's developments to adjust plans or change flight schedules accordingly to ensure absolute safety of flight operations; based on the storm's developments, consider stopping operations at a number of airports located in areas directly affected by storm No.
