Prosecuted the man who beat his girlfriend causing 23% injury at the coffee shop

On February 16, the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Chanh District Police (Ho Chi Minh City) initiated a case and prosecuted Tran Minh Hoang (born in 1990, residing in Hanoi) for intentionally causing injury.

Previously, due to an unhappy family, Ms. NVKN (born in 1991) was divorced and had a daughter. In February 2024, Ms. N. met Tran Minh Hoang when they worked together at the same company. During this time, Hoang shared about his ex-girlfriend and his past. After a broken relationship, meeting Hoang made Ms. N. fall in love and accept the relationship.

However, on March 23, 2024, Ms. N. discovered that Hoang was still seeing his ex-girlfriend and many other girls. Therefore, Ms. N. wanted to meet with both parties to clarify the relationship and wanted to end the relationship with Hoang.

On March 26, 2024, Ms. N. met Hoang and another girl named P. (Hoang's ex-girlfriend) at a coffee shop on Road 9A in Binh Hung Commune (Binh Chanh District). There, Hoang argued and insulted Ms. N. At that time, Ms. N. threw water in Hoang's face.

Angry, Hoang rushed over, strangled and punched Ms. N. in the face, causing the victim to collapse right at the coffee shop. Many people around intervened, and Hoang stopped. Ms. N. was taken to the hospital by local people for emergency treatment. The entire incident was recorded by the security camera in the shop. Ms. N. and her family then reported it to the police.

Ms. N. had to be transferred to four hospitals to treat her injuries. At the same time, Ms. N. was also taken for injury assessment. In September 2024, the police announced that Ms. N.'s body injury rate was 23%.
