Passenger spreads rumors of grenades, flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City had to be postponed

On July 22, the Da Nang International Airport Security Center confirmed that a passenger spread rumors that there was a grenade in his suitcase on a flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, causing the flight to be delayed for verification.

Accordingly, at 3:15 p.m. on July 21, at Da Nang International Airport, when flight VN131 was about 10 minutes away from taking off from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City, passenger Nguyen Thanh P., sitting in seat number 28E, spread the news that there was a grenade in his suitcase.

Immediately after that, the flight attendant reported the information to the flight captain. The captain immediately stopped the flight and reported to security forces.

Upon receiving the information, the Aviation Security Duty Officer immediately reported to the competent authority and relevant units to assess and decide to re-check the security of all passengers, luggage and goods on flight VN131 to ensure safety.

At the same time, security forces also searched the plane and the group of 4 people (in the family of the passenger who spread the bomb rumor) and their carry-on luggage.

By 4:40 p.m. the same day, the inspection of goods, people and carry-on luggage, and the search of the aircraft were completed. To ensure safety and strictly implement the security check process, the airline agreed to carry out procedures for passengers to board the aircraft and depart at 4:45 p.m.

Currently, the authorities continue to investigate and verify to handle the case according to the law.
