Israel continues airstrikes on Lebanon

Early on October 3, Israel continued to attack targets in the Lebanese capital Beirut, while the Hezbollah movement warned that "this is only the first round".

Witnesses reported a large explosion and a security source said it hit a building in the Bachoura area of ​​central Beirut, near the parliament, the latest attack on the Lebanese government headquarters, Reuters reported.

Three missiles also hit the southern area of ​​Dahiyeh, where Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed last week, Lebanese security officials said.

Israel confirmed that it had carried out a precision airstrike on Beirut. Israel also announced that it had destroyed more than 150 Hezbollah infrastructure facilities in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force statement stressed that commandos, paratroopers, armored personnel carriers, in coordination with the Israeli Air Force, had conducted a number of concentrated operations in southern Lebanon.

In close combat, Israeli soldiers killed many Hezbollah members and destroyed the movement's infrastructure, including command centers, weapons depots, and missile launch sites.

Earlier, on October 2, the Israeli army confirmed that eight soldiers were killed in a ground attack in Lebanon. According to the Israeli army, seven soldiers were killed in two other attacks and seven soldiers were injured.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah's media chief, claimed the group has enough personnel, weapons and ammunition to repel Israel.

“We assure the enemy that this is only the first round… What happened… is just the tip of the iceberg,” he told reporters in southern Lebanon, declaring that Hezbollah was ready to “give its blood and soul to defend its homeland.”

Mr. Afif also warned that Israel's air superiority would translate into losses on the ground.
