According to TASS, Yemen's Houthi forces launched a new attack on the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree confirmed the airstrike lasted for several hours.

Speaking on the Houthi-run Al Masirah TV channel, Mr. Saree stated: "In response to the US aggression, which carried out dozens of airstrikes on Yemen in recent hours, our forces - supported by missiles and UAVs, targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and several enemy warships in the Red Sea with missiles and UAVs."

Previously, on March 18, Houthi also announced that it had carried out the third attack on a US warship within the past 48 hours, in response to previous airstrikes by Washington.

According to a post on the Telegram channel, the Houthi movement confirmed that in the latest retaliation, the movement used missiles and drones to attack the USS Harry S. Truman in an attack on the US fleet in the northern Red Sea.

The Houthis have carried out numerous drone and missile attacks on Israeli cities and commercial vessels in the Red Sea in support of the Palestinians between November 2023 and January 19, 2025, when the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel takes effect.

On March 11, this force resumed attacks on Israeli cargo ships passing through the Red Sea after Israel suspended aid operations to Gaza.

The move sparked the first US airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen since President Donald Trump took office in January.
