Responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, on September 10, the Vietnam Journalists Association requested that all levels of the Association, press agencies and journalists nationwide support people affected by storm No. 3.
According to the Vietnam Journalists Association, in recent days, storm No. 3 has been causing widespread flooding, with the northern provinces suffering serious human and material losses. During the storms and floods, the association at all levels and the press team did not hesitate to face difficulties and hardships, joining hands with the whole country to prevent and overcome the consequences of floods and storms; strictly following the direction and management of the Government and being proactive and flexible in implementing prevention and response to floods and storms.
Together with the frontline forces against storms and floods, journalist members are not afraid of danger, rushing into the eye of the storm and in the flooded areas; facing difficulties, accepting to sacrifice the most important interests, striving to complete the task, promptly providing information about storms and floods to the public at home and abroad.
Journalists also silently contribute their efforts in calling for kindness, sharing, support, and helping those facing many difficulties in storms and floods.
The impact of storms and floods is forecast to be complex and unpredictable. Faced with mounting difficulties in the coming days, the Vietnam Journalists Association recommends that all levels of the association, press agencies and each journalist member continue to promote the fine tradition of 99 years of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism, 74 years of the establishment of the Vietnam Journalists Association, constantly uphold the sense of responsibility, comply with and unify the implementation of policies and decisions of the Party, State, Government and Vietnam Fatherland Front; devote themselves to work, create many high-quality journalistic works, create consensus in the community, contribute effectively and practically to overcoming the consequences of storms and floods...
To join hands and wholeheartedly support our compatriots in the flood-hit areas; to encourage and create more favorable conditions for cadres, members and reporters to work during storms and floods, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association calls on and requests all levels of the Journalists Association, press agencies and journalists nationwide to proactively and actively respond to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to mobilize support for our compatriots to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.
Promoting the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, "helping each other", "loving others as you love yourself", each press agency, Journalists Association, inter-branch, journalist branch and each member, depending on their ability, should connect social resources to support financially and with necessities through the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels or directly support people in affected localities.
At the same time, urgently review and grasp the situation, promptly commend, encourage and support journalist members who are working hard; coordinate to support members who are really in difficulty in flood areas with practical and humane activities. For journalist members who are in particular difficulty, the association at all levels will review and report specifically to the Vietnam Journalists Association.
