On the same day, Japan's Ministry of Defense also said it was ready to destroy any North Korean missile if it passed through its territory.
Japanese Cabinet Office spokesman Matsuno stressed that Japan will closely monitor developments related to North Korea's spy satellite launch, and condemned this activity as threatening the security of Japan as well as the region in general.
Mr. Matsuno warned that North Korea's actions are violating the United Nations Security Council Resolution and Japan is ready to take appropriate countermeasures. Currently, North Korea has not commented on the reactions of Japan and South Korea.
