Hai Duong completes collecting voters' opinions on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units

By the end of March 9, 10 districts, towns and cities of Hai Duong had completed collecting voters' opinions on the implementation of the arrangement of commune-level administrative units.

According to the results announced by districts, towns and cities, the percentage of voters agreeing with the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period is high, with an average of over 90% of voters agreeing in the whole province. Some districts have a high percentage of voters agreeing such as Ninh Giang with 99.4%, Cam Giang with 99%, Gia Loc with 97.63%...

After completing the consultation with voters, the communes, wards and towns subject to the arrangement shall complete the dossier and submit it to the People's Council at the commune level for approval, with the completion date before March 31, 2024. After that, the People's Committee at the district level shall complete the dossier and submit it to the People's Council at the same level for approval; continue to complete the dossier, the Project on arranging commune-level administrative units for the period 2023 - 2025 shall be sent to the Department of Home Affairs for appraisal and report to the Provincial People's Committee before April 15, 2024.

In the period of 2023 - 2025, the whole province has 57 administrative units to be reorganized (including 33 units subject to mandatory arrangement, 23 adjacent administrative units and 1 unit partially adjusted). After reorganizing commune-level administrative units, Hai Duong province will reduce 28 units, from 235 to 207 units. Hai Duong will have 151 communes, 46 wards, and 10 towns. Chi Linh city and Thanh Mien district do not have any communes or wards to be merged this time.
