In 2025, 7 districts and cities in Hai Duong will be allowed to convert more than 433 hectares of rice-growing land to annual crop cultivation and rice cultivation combined with aquaculture.
This is the content in the decision on the plan to convert the structure of crops and livestock on rice-growing land in 2025, just issued by the People's Committee of Hai Duong province.
Of the total 433.26 hectares of rice-growing land subject to conversion, 283.5 hectares were converted to annual crops; 149.76 hectares were converted to rice cultivation (1 crop) combined with aquaculture.
According to the decision, the rice-growing land area to be converted is located in 7 out of 12 localities, including Nam Sach, Ninh Giang, Kim Thanh, Binh Giang, Gia Loc, Thanh Mien districts and Hai Duong city.
Hai Duong City will be allowed to convert the structure of crops and livestock on rice-growing land in 2025, the largest in the province, with 247.92 hectares (168.3 hectares to annual crops and 79.62 hectares to rice cultivation combined with aquaculture).
Following are Ninh Giang district with 68.64 hectares, Binh Giang with 40 hectares, Kim Thanh with 26 hectares, Gia Loc with 21.2 hectares, Nam Sach with 15.5 hectares and Thanh Mien with 14 hectares.
Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to guide and supervise the conversion of crop and livestock structures in districts and cities; synthesize the implementation results and report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Provincial People's Committee.
