Prime Minister Shmyhal said that he had met with Ollongren in Kiev to discuss the initiative of the Netherlands and its partners to supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems. He also expressed his hope that the Netherlands will soon supply F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Prime Minister Shmyhal noted that during the talks, the two sides discussed the exchange of technology and cooperation in defense production, the peace conference in Switzerland and the issue of Ukraine's application to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He stressed that Ukraine relies on the active support of the Netherlands to continue to coordinate with important partners in NATO to receive full support.

During the visit, Ollongren also met with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov. Umerov informed Ollongren about the needs of the Ukrainian army and called for funding for the production of weapons on Ukrainian territory.
