Taipei Economic and Cultural Office supports women in Hoang Hoa Tham commune (Chi Linh, Hai Duong) to develop beekeeping for honey.
On May 28, the Hai Duong Provincial Women's Union in coordination with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office announced support for the Honey Beekeeping Project to help ethnic women and women in difficult circumstances in Hoang Hoa Tham commune (Chi Linh).
Three typical families of three villages Ho Giai, Dong Chau, Da Bac were supported with a sustainable livelihood model of beekeeping for honey; 10 disadvantaged women's families of the commune were given beekeeping tools.
In addition, the project also supports the establishment of the Hoang Hoa Tham Wild Beekeeping Cooperative, builds geographical indications, develops the Chi Linh wild honey brand; organizes technical training courses, disease prevention for honey bees and methods of processing honey products.
The project has a total budget of 200 million VND, to be implemented in 2024.
Hoang Hoa Tham Commune has 80% of its area covered by hills and forests. The whole commune currently has 200 households raising bees for honey. The chestnut forests, lychee and longan gardens of Chi Linh produce good quality honey, which is popular in the market.
