President-elect Trump and his family and guests attended a party, watched fireworks, and enjoyed music at a golf course he owns in the suburbs of Washington.
US President-elect Donald Trump and his family traveled from Palm Beach, Florida to Washington by government plane to attend a series of inauguration celebrations.
After a three-hour flight, President-elect Trump and his family arrived at Dulles International Airport in Washington on the evening of January 18. The group then went to the Trump National Golf Club, which he owns, in Sterling, Virginia, a suburb of the capital.
Mr. Trump invited about 500 guests to the event. Entertainment included fireworks and music, including performances by Leo Days, an Elvis Presley impersonator, and Christopher Macchio, an opera singer who has performed at many of Mr. Trump’s political events.
The fireworks show started at nearly 10 o'clock.

Trump National Golf Club is a 790-acre property along the Potomac River. Mr. Trump bought the golf club in 2009 for $13 million from a bank after the previous owner went bankrupt. Eric Trump, Mr. Trump’s second son, is now the club’s manager.

On January 20, Mr. Trump will attend a tea party at the White House with his predecessor, take the oath of office on Capitol Hill, attend a luncheon with lawmakers and attend dinners.
Traditionally, the swearing-in ceremony is held on the west front of the US Capitol building. However, the temperature on inauguration day is expected to drop to -7 degrees Celsius, forcing Mr. Trump to move the ceremony inside the Rotunda Hall at the Capitol.
The last time the US held an indoor presidential inauguration was in 1985, when Ronald Reagan began his second term, and the lowest outdoor temperature was -29 degrees Celsius.
January 21, Mr. Trump's first full day in office as the 47th President of the United States, will begin with a prayer service for the country.
Mr Trump is scheduled to have meetings with Senate Majority Leader John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson.
