Breathtaking off-road motorcycle race on the Ha Giang rocky plateau

On October 21 in Ha Giang, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Quan Ba ​​district to organize the 4th "Stone Spirit" car and motorcycle performance and competition and paragliding in 2023. Image at Trang Kim valley (Quan Ba).

The people of Trang Kim are mainly H'Mong, Dao, Lo Lo... ethnic groups with diverse indigenous cultures. Not only is it a village festival, in recent years this event has also been a time for the Ha Giang rocky plateau to promote tourism and expand the development of many economic sectors.

At 8:00 a.m. on October 21, local police began leading the athletes' motorbikes from Trang Kim valley to the center of Quan Ba ​​district.

At exactly 9 o’clock, nearly a hundred athletes entered the motorcycle race with the task of conquering the racing track from the foot of the valley to the top of the mountain and back. The off-road motorcycle race was divided into 3 categories: open, semi-professional and professional. Accordingly, the athletes competed in 3 rounds including the qualifying round, semi-finals and finals.

Along the racetracks, people spread out carpets to eat and enjoy the exciting competitions.

The heat and difficulty of the courses quickly made things difficult for the racers. A Thai athlete repeatedly crashed during the fan challenge. Here, the organizers tied large, sturdy bamboo poles to the bike, making it difficult to turn and easy to lose momentum. This was a challenge that required the racers to use good technique or come up with their own "tricks".

The powerful off-road motorcycles impressed as they continuously overcame the obstacle of rows of tires. This was also a test that received much applause from the audience.

Athlete Tien Thinh (Hanoi) crossed a muddy water hole. After the race, he confided: "Ha Giang, Moc Chau... are always ideal destinations for racers like us, not only because of the difficult terrain but also because it makes the athletes challenge themselves."

Throughout the cultural exchange day, there will also be paragliding activities by professional players. This is the first time Ha Giang has organized a motorized paragliding performance.

New tourism products and modern sports create conditions to open a new direction in developing four-season tourism, diversifying tourism products for Ha Giang in the coming time.
