On September 16, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Nam Province Police announced that it had issued a decision to prosecute and detain Trinh Thi Hoa (born in 1985, residing in Phu Hoa Dong Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City; temporarily residing at 306 Ly Thuong Kiet, An My Ward, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province) to continue investigating the act of fraud and property appropriation.
Authorities read the decision to prosecute Trinh Thi Hoa.
According to the investigation results, due to needing money for personal purposes, Trinh Thi Hoa had the intention of defrauding to appropriate Ms. LTNL's property.
Hoa provided false information such as needing to borrow money to lend to others to earn interest or borrowing money to make land records or redeem vehicle papers.
Between February 9 and September 17, 2022, Hoa borrowed and appropriated from Ms. L. a total amount of VND 4,850,900,000.
Hoa used the money she received to pay off her personal debts, spend money, and take out a portion of the loan to pay interest to Mrs. L. Gradually, Hoa lost her ability to pay her debts.
