According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first 6 months of 2024, Hai Duong province is estimated to welcome and serve nearly 1.5 million visitors, an increase of nearly 59.3% over the same period in 2023. Of which, there are more than 39 thousand international visitors (an increase of nearly 52.6%) and more than 1.4 million domestic visitors (an increase of nearly 59.5%). The number of tourists increased, revenue reached 623.6 billion VND, an increase of nearly 54.5%. The number of tourists to Hai Duong is forecast to continue to increase strongly.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has surveyed 19 relics and selected 9 relics that are eligible to establish scientific dossiers to propose provincial-level ranking and build a cross-sectional dossier for 1 relic to propose national-level ranking. Hai Duong is continuing to coordinate with the two provinces of Quang Ninh and Bac Giang to prepare necessary conditions to welcome international expert delegations to conduct on-site appraisal of scientific dossiers to submit to UNESCO for recognition of the Complex of Monuments and Landscapes of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac as a World Heritage Site; preparing to organize the Con Son - Kiep Bac Autumn Festival in 2024.
At the working session with the Provincial People's Council's Committee on Culture and Society on June 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed that the Provincial People's Council consider and issue a resolution stipulating a number of policies to support tourism development in the province in the period of 2024 - 2030. The Provincial People's Committee allocates capital for localities to build tourism infrastructure in tourist areas and destinations and restore and embellish typical relics to attract tourists.
