The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development merged with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to form the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Comrade Bui Van Thang, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development was appointed as Director of the Department.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Van Hieu and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau presented flowers to congratulate the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

On the morning of February 20, Hai Duong province announced decisions on the organization of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee and personnel work.

In which, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development merged with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to form the Department of Agriculture and Environment. Comrade Bui Van Thang, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development was appointed as Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

The Deputy Directors of the Department of Agriculture and Environment are: Duong Van Xuyen, member of the Provincial Party Committee, previously Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Do Tien Dung, Nguyen Thi Nhu Trang, Nguyen Trac Trung (3 Deputy Directors of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment); Luong Van Canh, Luong Thi Kiem, Pham Thi Dao (3 Deputy Directors of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development).

After 5 years, the number of deputy directors will be arranged according to regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment performs the state management function in the sectors and fields assigned to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment before the merger. At the same time, it receives the task and organization of the state management apparatus on poverty reduction transferred from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

After the merger, the department reduced 4 professional departments (from 15 departments to 11 departments), reduced 4 public service units and reorganized the Agricultural Extension Center.

The department's staffing is 196, including 49 positions from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, 146 positions from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and 1 position from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
