In October, sales of C-class sedans in the Vietnamese market continued to increase, with the highest increases in imported cars.

In the second month of applying the Government's policy of reducing registration fees, sales of the C-segment sedan segment in the Vietnamese market continued to increase. There were 1,381 cars delivered to customers, equivalent to a 10% increase compared to the previous month.

However, the increase amplitude is opposite to the ranking, meaning the best-selling cars have the least increase, even decrease, and vice versa.

Leading the rankings is still the Japanese-Korean car duo assembled and distributed by Thaco. Mazda3 sold 676 cars in October, up more than 16% compared to the previous month.

Following behind was the Kia K3, selling 381 cars, down 14%. The K3 was also the only model in the segment to see a decrease in sales in October.

The Korean car model Hyundai Elantra ranked third with sales of 218 cars, up nearly 22% compared to 179 cars the previous month.

The only two imported representatives of the segment, including Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic, still ranked last, but had the strongest growth rate in October. The sales of these two Japanese models were similar, Corolla Altis was 55 cars (up nearly 50%), and Civic was 51 cars (up more than 200%).

Imported car models do not enjoy preferential registration fees, however, some dealers have implemented promotional programs or deep discounts to increase competition with domestically assembled rivals. Therefore, the sales of these models still grew strongly last month.

In addition, Honda introduced the new generation Civic at the end of October, with a slight price increase and the addition of a hybrid version. Therefore, the old version was heavily promoted to push inventory, causing Civic sales to increase dramatically in October.

C-size sedan is one of the most selective segments in the Vietnamese market, with only 5 models, of which 3 are domestically assembled and 2 are imported.

However, monthly sales in this segment have fluctuated little in 2024, always maintained at 800-1,000 units. In the first 10 months of 2024, nearly 10,000 vehicles were delivered to customers.
