“There is no story of a hotel in Cua Lo town insulting and threatening to cut off the legs of a tourist group in Hanoi as reported on social media.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tran Mai Duong, Chief Inspector of Nghe An Department of Tourism, said that yesterday (June 12), the Department's inspection team coordinated with the Provincial Police (room PA01), the Department of Culture and Sports of Cua Lo town, the People's Committee - Nghi Huong Ward Police had a working session with VH Hotel and representatives of the tourist group who booked rooms here.
The purpose of the meeting was to clarify information on social networks accusing VH Hotel of threatening to "cut off the legs of a group member and insulting the entire group".
According to Mr. Duong, at the meeting, the delegation had a frank and objective exchange with representatives of the tourist group from Hanoi.
VH Hotel is located in Nghi Huong ward, Cua Lo town.
The representative of the tourist group said that the group was not insulted or threatened with having their legs chopped off. No member of the group posted such information on social media.
There was a misunderstanding between the group of guests and the hotel because of a disagreement over the check-in time. Afterwards, the group moved to another hotel, and the two sides resolved the issue amicably without any problems.
“There is no story of a hotel in Cua Lo town insulting and threatening to cut off the legs of a tourist group in Hanoi as reported on social media. We have also asked Nghe An Provincial Police to direct professional departments to investigate and clarify the person who posted the information on social media,” said Mr. Duong.
Vice Chairman of Cua Lo Town People's Committee, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc shared that up to now, the town has always strived to bring tourists a sense of safety, friendliness and hospitality. He also hopes that the authorities will soon clarify and strictly handle the posting of false information on social networks that affects the tourism image of the locality.
As reported, recently on Facebook QN (name unknown) posted information about a group of tourists coming to Cua Lo for vacation. Because VH hotel (in Nghi Huong ward) could not meet the room and time arrangement, the group was upset and had to move to another hotel.
It is worth mentioning that the information also said that the hotel owner hired a group of "social" people to threaten, insult, and demand to cut off the tourists' legs.
Regarding this issue, Mr. T. (owner of Clean Hotel VH) explained that two of his employees went to find the group of guests to ask why they had left to stay elsewhere. Mr. T. said that he wanted to find out the cause to fix the hotel's shortcomings (if any) and there was absolutely no threat to "cut off the guests' legs" as posted on the Facebook account mentioned above.
Mr. T. also spoke on behalf of the hotel, thanked the tourist group and affirmed that the hotel's handling of the issue was unreasonable, and he would request correction and improvement in the future.
