Our lamps were given by the Youth Union to disadvantaged students. That made us happy and proud.

Today, the teacher gave us an assignment to write about the most memorable memory of the past time. I sat thinking for a long time, suddenly the light bulb in the house flickered, probably because of low electricity, so I remembered a very impressive memory of the last Mid-Autumn Festival and I also wrote it in my small diary:

"Date...

The homeroom teacher organized a lantern making contest in class to select the most beautiful lanterns to compete at the school level. Every group wanted their handmade lanterns to be selected to compete again and be given to disadvantaged students. When we learned that the contest also carried a message of love and saving, we were even more enthusiastic about getting started.

- Ideas! – Think! Ideas are the most important, start thinking - Team leader Phuong said softly, loud enough for the whole team to hear, ensuring confidentiality, not revealing it to other teams, not letting the next class know.

The lazy guy suddenly became quick-witted:

- We pool our money, go to the market to buy a nice lantern, bring it in and it's done. No need to stay and work after each class.

- The criteria for the lantern is to use recycled materials, the less expensive the better - Deputy Head Thanh repeated the general rules of the competition, while speaking he glared at Quyet so hard that he thought his face would burn.

Decided to stick out his tongue:

- Yes, ma'am, I know!

The group of 9 people made lanterns together in the afternoon after school. We all went to Thu's house next to the school to start working, trying to finish in just two sessions. The lantern we made was round, using cardboard as the bottom, surrounded by a layer of transparent glossy paper, the handles were Thu's bamboo chopsticks. We put the flashing string of lights in the middle. Lan looked at the completed lantern and jumped up and clapped her hands:

- Great! Great! This lamp is less than twenty thousand, very economical and lovely.

The whistle added:

- There will definitely be a prize. I admit that the girls in our group are skillful.

We happily admired the results of our two afternoons of staying after school to make lanterns. Thu’s mother even took some nice pictures for us as souvenirs. She complimented us on our creativity and talent, making everyone feel proud.

During the class meeting, four groups brought lanterns to the homeroom teacher for grading. She looked at them all and shook her head, helplessly:

- I really don't know which one is more beautiful, guys! I think all the lights are beautiful and meet the competition criteria. I have decided that all four lights from the four groups will be entered into the school competition! I will award all four groups.

As soon as she finished speaking, the whole class burst into applause.

At the school-level competition, the results were beyond expectations. The round lantern that my group made by hand was awarded second prize, the other three lanterns from three other groups were awarded consolation prizes. Our lanterns were given to disadvantaged students by the Youth Union. That made us happy and proud. We felt like we had learned a profound lesson about love in life. From then on, I learned to care more about less fortunate students, to love and share more."

After reading the diary entries, I smiled. I had meticulously recorded every detail, so I had finished the essay she assigned today, now I just needed to copy it cleanly into my notebook. But I also had a wish, I hoped I would do many good deeds, so that the diary pages would always be filled with love.
