Chickens raised on herbal supplemented feed grow well, have few diseases, and delicious meat.

On the morning of November 1, in Cam Hoang commune (Cam Giang), the Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture to organize a workshop on the topic "Using herbal supplements in commercial chicken farming in the direction of safety, quality and high economic efficiency in the province".

The project was carried out at 3 households in Quy Khe village (Cam Hoang commune). The pilot chicken breed is crossbred chicken, with a scale of 750 chickens/household, and a raising period of about 105 days. Households participating in the model are supported with 50% of the breed, vaccines, and disinfectants. The herbal mixture used includes anise, single gold, and pearl.

As a result, chickens fed with herbal supplements grew well, had few diseases, and had delicious meat. After deducting expenses, the chickens raised gave the highest profit of over 51,000 VND/chicken.

The project will be implemented until 2024 to evaluate its effectiveness more clearly.
