While many people happily welcome the 5-day April 30 - May 1 holiday, some people do not know what to do so that this "as long as Tet" holiday does not become a burden.

This year, on the occasion of the April 30 - May 1 holiday, most civil servants, public employees and workers in Hai Duong have 5 consecutive days off, from April 27 to May 1. This is the second longest holiday of the year, almost equal to the number of days off for the 2024 Lunar New Year. Many people are excited to welcome the holiday, but many others complain "I don't know what to do for 5 days".

During this time, many people do not like to travel because they are afraid of crowds at entertainment and sightseeing spots. Therefore, many people are "stuck" between the worry of being crowded during the holidays and bored at home. Without going far, many parents plan to continue working, finishing unfinished tasks even during the holidays or staying home watching TV or using their phones to avoid the noise. Many people are "afraid" of looking after their children during the 5 days off from school. Children are ready to "plow" through games, movies, surf social networks, and sleep in freely. During the long holidays, couples also worry about balancing time to visit their parents, relatives, and prepare meals like during Tet.

Therefore, a long holiday also brings with it many worries: worries about money, traffic safety, children's safety, social evils... So what should we do to prevent these worries from becoming a real burden? That is, enjoy the long holiday in a useful and meaningful way in our own way with the mindset that this is an opportunity to rest and do what we want.

Thinking about relatives and family should be a priority for everyone. For those who are far from home, this holiday is a precious opportunity to return home. If you are shy about the worries mentioned above, you only need to spend part of the 5 days to return home, and the rest for other activities to balance things out. A light trip, avoiding crowded places or just having fun in Hai Duong province is not a bad idea for this holiday. For young people who have been working and studying hard since the beginning of the year, this is a suitable break to recharge.

Each holiday has its own meaning, participating in activities related to the meaning of that holiday is also a good way to show gratitude, remember and educate. These days, visiting historical sites in Hai Duong with relatives and friends will be even more meaningful.

I have a friend who lives very scientifically. She divides the holiday into 5 days for 5 activities: 1 day to go back to her hometown, 1 day to travel to a place that is not crowded, 1 day to read books, 1 day to have a class reunion and the last day to relax to get ready to go back to work the next day. Thus, the holiday passes very smoothly instead of causing more fatigue and pressure.

Everyone has their own needs and ways of enjoying the holidays, so there are many different ways to spend them. However, parents who lie around on their phones, teenagers who are buried in the internet, and people who are engrossed in partying can make the holidays less useful and more boring, burdensome, and unsafe.
