Training of resource trainers on management and operation of Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs in Hai Duong

From September 19-21, HAI Organization organized a training course for source trainers on management and operation of Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs for 20 officials of the Elderly Association in Hai Duong.

Participating in the training, officials of the Elderly Association in Hai Duong were instructed on how to organize the "Intergenerational Self-Help" Club activities.

Hai Duong is one of 6 localities nationwide selected by HelpAge International in Vietnam (HAI) to implement the Project "Supporting disadvantaged elderly people through expanding intergenerational self-help clubs in Vietnam" - phase 2" (Project VIE085), from December 2022 to November 2025.

Implementing this project, in 2023 and 2024, Hai Duong established 18 Intergenerational Self-Help Clubs, with the participation of more than 950 members.

The clubs have been supported by the project with books, documents, forms, activity progress tables, nameplates and some operating equipment, and have also been supported with funds to establish an “Increase Income” Fund. Through working and attending activities at the clubs, HAI highly appreciates the activities in Hai Duong, bringing many practical benefits, contributing to caring for the material and spiritual life and promoting the role of the elderly in the family and community.

From September 19-21, 2024, the project organized training for 20 officials of the Elderly Association of Hai Duong province and districts, towns and cities: Ninh Giang, Tu Ky, Gia Loc, Cam Giang, Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha, Binh Giang, Kinh Mon, Chi Linh and Hai Duong city.

Through training, equipping delegates with how to teach the contents of club activities including: population aging, awareness of the elderly, club models, steps to conduct club activities, self-help activities - community support, income generation, health care, home care volunteers, resource mobilization, rights and benefits for the elderly, club management and reporting systems, monitoring and technical support for clubs, practice/test teaching.

The project “Supporting disadvantaged elderly people through expanding intergenerational self-help clubs in Vietnam” - phase 2 (VIE085 Project)” is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through HelpAge Korea (HAK). The project is implemented by HelpAge International in Vietnam (HAI) in cooperation with the Representative Board/Associations of the Elderly in 6 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh and Ninh Binh, with technical support from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly.
