A woman in Cam Giang was fined 7.5 million VND for posting false information on Facebook.

On October 20, Cam Giang District Police issued a decision to administratively fine Ms. Tong Thi Tua, born in 1960, in Cam Doai Commune (Cam Giang) VND 7.5 million for using Facebook to post false information.

On October 18, the police force drew up an administrative violation report against Ms. Tua because previously, on October 2, 2023, Ms. Tua posted false information on Facebook.

Ms. Tua is one of 17 households that have not agreed to the implementation of the Ha Xa Cultural, Sports and Residential Area Project (Cam Doai Commune). She often makes recommendations and requests for compensation and support outside of the State's policy, deliberately disobeys the land acquisition decision, spreads false information about the project as well as the land acquisition process, affecting the progress of site clearance of the project; affecting the economic and social development of Cam Giang District.

Ms. Tua's actions were handled according to Point a, Clause 1, Article 101 of Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government stipulating administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of post and telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions.

The decision also requires Ms. Tua to remove all articles with violating content on the internet.
