Da Nang is most searched by Vietnamese tourists in the summer

Da Nang was the most searched destination, followed by Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. Meanwhile, Bangkok topped the list of international destinations most searched by Vietnamese tourists.

Analysis from Bookking.com on June 9 showed that beach tourism is still the top trend for Vietnamese tourists in the summer. Da Nang holds the leading position and is the most searched domestic destination by Vietnamese tourists in the summer of 2023, followed by Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.

With a coastline of more than 3,260 km and nearly 5,000 years of history, beautiful beaches across Vietnam still retain their inherent appeal to domestic tourists.

In addition to searching for beach tourism, Vietnamese tourists are also interested in big cities such asHo Chi Minh City, as well as less bustling cities like Da Lat and Hoi An. The list of the 10 most searched destinations this summer includes Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Hoi An, Hanoi, Ha Long, Hue and Vung Tau.

Many Vietnamese tourists also expressed their desire to continue and restart international travel. 6/10 of the most searched international destinations are located in Asia - Pacific and are destinations with short flight times and relatively easy visa policies for Vietnamese tourists.
Bangkok is the top favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists when traveling internationally this summer, followed by Singapore and Paris. Since reopening, Tokyo and Seoul have also received great attention from Vietnamese tourists and are also 2 of the 5 most searched cities this summer.

According to Booking.com's 2023 Travel Forecast, 74% of Vietnamese travelers say travel is always a worthwhile experience for them, and more than three-quarters of travelers (78%) believe summer is the best time to travel.

Although travelers are expressing apprehension about the global economic situation, they do not intend to abandon their travel plans and instead consider allocating their travel budgets more carefully, by taking advantage of travel deals, tips and choosing travel times more wisely (74%) and prioritizing the use of discounts and loyalty programs (64%).

Mr. Varun Grover, Country Manager of Booking.com in Vietnam, said that the fact that Vietnamese tourists are eager to plan their summer vacations is a good sign.
